and a wonderfully disheveled house. Today I have been on an interiors hunt and via Lynne's lovely pages, I halted at this great interior/exterior.
Today I woke up and I was so full of joy. I mean busting at the seams happy. I think this is the difference six days straight of sun can do for a girl. I leave the blind in the bedroom about a foot above the windowsill so I am woken up by the sun shining in on me. It illuminates, bounces and reflects all around, making me extra pleased at the decision to paint the room white.
Good old Ralph Lauren home never fails to inspire. And I love the colour and texture mix in these pictures. Faded florals, patched denims, homely mutt. I am seeing a recurring theme with dogs around here, you can't beat a friendly hound when needing to add personality and warmth to a home setting. I have almost been tempted myself, I do love dogs and their cheeky personalities, if it wasn't for allergies, and If only they didn't molt. There is nothing glamourous about living life in a flurry of pet hair. And no I don't want a labradoodle.

He has put up with a lot over the years. Never complaining when he has had to sweep the flower garlands out of the way so he can have a shower. Drinking out of polka dot bone china. His bedside lamp changing daily when I used to work for a lighting retailer. 
The truth I think is that our dream is now the same. I guess we'll buy somewhere a bit ratty and rundown and we won't have the help we had last time so it will be a slower process than our current apartment. But if when we are in the process it could look anything similar to this peeling glory, I know I'll be happy.
Our bedroom is done. Saturday was painting, stroll to the Oldtown for a refreshment break. Paint again. Make some strawberry ice cream. Paint again (damn that grey paint) camp out in the lounge over night while the fumes dispersed. 
Sunday was spent rearranging everything, gathering a few more "manish" pieces of furniture from around the house, the husband has been girled out over the years and as my taste has slowly evolved too we are trying a more masculine style. Well thats the theory, I am a girl and my possessions seem to confirm this. Hence the dusting of sequins and fairy lights. 
I made up these new bedside lights with bits and pieces from the lighting shop that I used to work in. I also scrambled to put the banner over the bed while the husband brushed his teeth in the bathroom. Couldn't resist a bit of flair.
The weekend is here again, and so as not to miss too much of it, the bedroom decorating will begin tonight. I found so much bedroom inspiration on the Living Etc site. I love the just moved in style of the image on the right and this idea of a glass inspiration wall on the left. I hate to pin or tack things on my walls as both leave marks but this glass board can be tacked and re-tacked with an ever changing collage. I might use one of my big mirrors in this way?
Above are my two favorite bedrooms light, dreamy, maybe a bit too girly? For the husband I think these two pictures below are more his taste.
Anyway we are on a budget so we will have to work with the accessories we already have. I will try to accommodate both our tastes and see you sunday evening with the results. I hope. Have a great weekend!
The new house and home range from Toast is out now and as usual I'm in love with it all! I have always loathed camping but they make it look so beautiful I just want to pack up my portable stove and head out to a field. 
Just in case I get cold feet on the outside living idea, with all these products I could make a great camp in my bedroom just like when I was a kid! 
There is a fabulous basketry and bags section too, I think someone better put my visa in a locked box. (again)
Friday morning and I'm falling in love with Cabbages and Roses all over again. After seeing their stand at a trade show a few weeks ago I can't get the faded beauty of the fabrics out of my head. I want to whitewash all my walls and hang the gauzy cottons at my windows. 
I must be suffering from spring fever! The Cabbages and Roses online boutique sells all these beautiful fabrics by the meter and a collection of homeware too. 
I think this antique rose on a duck egg blue background would make fabulous cushions, might compliment my charcoal sofa rather well. Poor Dean, whenever he arrives home from a trip he never knows what he will find changed! 
I will have to make a trip to their store the next time I'm shopping in the big smoke.
I dream of decorating all day long. Trying to point my life in the right direction this year. Is this what I want to do with all my time? I'm having an epiphany being thirty an'all, its not a new wish for me but the feeling is so strong now its all I can think about. I would love to buy a five bedroom house and decorate every room from scratch so if anyone has a five bedder they can spare I'm ready to redesign it! Living in a small town and a recession in full swing is dampening my spirits a little. And where does one start?! So if you find a thirty year old woman cowering and looking bemused behind a bolt of Raspberry Natural Hatley it's probably me!

I bookmarked this lovely photo and post found over at creature comforts a while ago and thought it was so sweet, and accompanied by such a lovely picture. Just love the blue of the cup.
Patiently waiting for my pack of samples from Louise Body. I believe she lives locally to me (our old town is bustling with artists and designers) and a few of the shops have used her designs on accent walls in their displays. Louise's printed and hand finished wallpapers and cushions elegantly combine hand screen printing with digital image making. The outcome is beautiful papers that evoke nostalgic memories. 
I would love to use one of these papers somewhere in my home, the tiny folk on the Erotica wallpaper look like they are having a ball!
Okay enough already with the white, the new Laura Ashley catalogue fell out of an interiors magazine into my lap today and my fickle mind says yes to a hasty about turn in the complete opposite direction, I love this new wolcott charcoal wallpaper. I'm just crazy for the colour combination in the room above.
