On days like this when I have the luxury of a day at home to myself (and time to get a weeks worth of posting done!) I would love to be out on the verandah or a sheltered deck looking out towards a peaceful garden watching birds splash about in a bird bath or pecking at seed filled coconut shells. 
Morning! Where have I been? Sorry for my absence I just haven't had the posting bug lately, maybe I am still on vacation mode. What have you been upto? I hope your weekend was splendid. We have had a perfect two days, visiting family on Saturday and then stealing Sunday for ourselves, a long country drive and a delicious lunch.
Walking and eating. Making the most of the sunshine before I have to go back to work. I found a heart inside my strawberry. I miss my bike. I love this poster!
So sunny and bright today, if I didn't have to work later and if I had a garden I would put on a pair of exquisite Jennifer Morris earrings, drag a beautiful rug outside and have me a little sunshine party on the lawn. Ginger wine punch and cucumber sandwiches anybody?
A sunny four mile round trip on foot to acquire a basket brimming with beautiful lilacs. My little ipod the soundtrack to my day. Bob Dylan on the uphill stint. Fred Astaire while the ducks bobbed up and down on the lake. Fleet Foxes as the sun turns my sheer skirt transparent and Led zeppelin as I clipped the branches. Thanks to my Dad for sharing his garden with me. If only Mum was nearer I would have popped in and left a big bunch of these in a vase on her table for her. More about these pretty little flowers later. I am late again!
Just revisiting my day out that was Sunday. Spent with my family at Leeds castle in Kent. Wish I was outside again today. There was blossom of all kinds. The interior was amazing. Tapestries and oil paintings. Lovely guides sharing their knowledge. A maze and an underground grotto intricately decorated with shells and sea plants. Plus a side order of lots and lots of sunshine. Wonderful day.
Another nice thing today was meeting Penny Brookes the owner of Le petit jardin a delight of a shop in a little brick paved street. Selling such lovely things for outside and in. Linens, votives, yummy candles scented with thyme and citrus fruits. Spools of ribbon, seeds in pretty vintage style sachets. It made me crave for an outside space more than ever. It was so nice to see the ladies in the shop working together so closely and happily, I'm guessing they are great friends and to see the joy that is owning a successful business all of your own. I can't wait to go back and visit again at christmas time.
Yours being the operative word as I don't have one! Soon soon. But if I did I would dress it up with pretty coloured twine and decorative markers like these beauties from french company Botanique editions. 
As you can see they also could be used for other things like place markers for dinner parties or wedding receptions. I love this set of steel letter stamps which when slugged with a hammer emboss names onto the metal or plastic tags. 
More fabulous wedding ideas here too, Dean and I are off to New York pretty much straight after we get married so we are just having a few quiet drinks with our family and then making a dash for the airport,( not to terminal 5 I hope!) but we are thinking of having some kind of celebration or dinner party when we get back so I will keep these pretty ideas in mind for then.
