November wardrobe inspiration

November wardrobe inspiration, cosy wraps, woodland colours and a sprinkling of sequins.

Good luck to all who entered the yesterdays giveaway. Todays is up next, and I will announce all the winners next Monday.

A thing for beauty

Aren't some things so beautiful that they almost cause you physical pain? I feel like that about the inspiration boards of the blog A thing for. I want to get inside the pictures and live the moments all for myself. I discovered them earlier today over at Once Wed

Check out her other lovely blog too. The post featuring turquoise walls makes me happy.

Recordings

Have gathered some extra minutes from my days and turned them into some new daily collages, and I managed to pick up the pretty blue floral dress from the middle image in Laura Ashley for 75% off!

Well dressed

Love this book The well dressed home by Annette Tatum, so much loveliness on every page, collections of pretty clothes and beautiful interiors. Inspiration boards and decorating ideas. All these images have really perked me up.
Michelle Long's home was featured in the book and you can buy some of the items and similar vintage treasures in Michelle's Etsy shop Bohemiennes's.

Homemade fun and summer festivities

I find wedding blogs so inspiring. These inspiration boards from snippet and ink are just fabulous! I so love the simple natural colours of the top board, but how summery and fun is the bottom pic?

Have a good day.

Home alone

Still home alone. Enjoying some time by myself. Everything is tidy. The washing up done. The laundry drying. I have even been bothered to cook a meal. The day is coming to an end, think I will watch a film and add a little port to my spiced berry cordial.

wishing you a good evening.

fresh as a daisy after a summer rain storm

I have been lying in bed listening to the beautiful sound of rain since 6 am. It is now 11 and I am still here eating jaffa cakes (how I love annual leave). With all the trees and plants fresh and happy after their morning shower I guess I should get the hell up and do the same. Thought I'd share some images that I recently put together for Artsy mama's other blog 'A year of colour". I have had fun putting together inspiration boards to match the theme each month. Its a great project with loads of tutorials, giveaways interviews and photography. So if you can check it out, do.

Another happy place

Another happy place. I think I will spend my Tuesday evening reading over here.

Free time

Day off today I love my free time. After roasting, baking and making I also found some time to update over here.

Estate sale

I'm pairing down my craft supplies again, one day our spare room will be fit to house a person. Poor mummy and little sister having to camp on the lounge floor when they visit!

I have been collecting vintage and new craft supplies for years, hoarding them up and not wanting to use them, though some items do inspire my idea boards. So I have grouped the best bits together into inspiring collections ready to sell. Hopefully they will inspire someone who isn't afraid to cut them up and make beautiful things with them.

Or like me you could take them out of the box and then rearrange them back into the box, tuck them away for a rainy day and so on and so on. I have always wanted my own haberdashery and now thanks to Etsy I have one.

Glossy

Another happy by-product of my recent paper shuffling. Sorted, shredded, assembled, inspiration boards for a new long term project I am working on with my lovely sister.

Sorting through a two and a half ft tall pile (and I just found a few more oops) really does hammer home the extent of my magazine addiction. Since I have been unsatisfied in my working life, a kind of escapism I guess. I just seem to buy nearly every interiors glossy that hits the stands. Even though after awhile you find its a lot of the same homes used by each different publisher. With all the blogs I read I think nows the time to quit the glossy fetish and start giving a few trees a chance, and maybe my wallet can breath a sigh of relief also.

Old crockery to smash

Making mood boards is keeping me sane at the moment, the job is still hard to stomach. Monday was my first day back after two weeks training and the pressure combined with pushy (oblivious to human feeling) boss brought me to tears. I didn't want to cry, what a baby! How easily I revert to childish behavior in difficult situations. Can't think what's wrong with me, I get so easily overwhelmed these days. Even the frustration of rage makes me cry. Must find some old crockery to smash. The evil thought that it will be even worse for me to have to come back to this job after the utter joy of spending our honeymoon in New York probably isn't helping.

How long can I really continue with this horror? I feel an awkward conversation on the horizon. I get through my hours but in my heart I knew the day I started that this was not the place for me. Maybe even at the interview, was that the faint ringing of an alarm bell I heard in the back of my head? When they rang to offer me the job did my instinct say no even though the word YES slipped out of my mouth? I was so anxious to leave behind my old job that I just jumped from the frying pan straight into the fire and have now been enveloped in the flames. At least I have the full support of my future husband to jump ship! Hopefully the next jump will be into a placid ocean not a furnace of hideousness! Moaning aside I can see quite a comical side to it all so no need to put me on suicide watch just yet! I shouldn't complain I'm so happy in all other aspects of my life. Happy and excited about being a wife. Lucky to have fabulous family and friends.
