Sweet almond clouds

A new obsession. The most exquisite tasting Vanilla, Rose petal, Pistachio, Chestnut, sweet almond clouds. Beautiful, but not too pretty to eat. They lasted just long enough for me to take a picture.

Elements

1. i love cinnamon toast + rilakkuma, 2. macchiato, 3. today's bread, 4. monday'slunch

Taking different elements from my Flickr favorites this is the Saturday I hope for myself.

A healthy lunch, fresh baked bread, a warm drink with friends, cinnamon toast before bed. How will you spend your Saturday?

Vintage buffet

Remember when food looked this good? Me either! I just love vintage cookery books. Found this one in a local antique store. Those little prawn stuffed tomatoes look so cheerful. Maybe a little weird but definitely cheerful. I wont be reconstructing them. But I'm thinking the domino biscuits. Happy tuesday.

Yay for Paul!

The weather has taken a turn for the worse (again!) pouring with rain and way too windy for an umbrella! Makes me want to stay indoors and try to recreate some of the almost too beautiful to eat food by Sweet Paul. Paul has done a recent feature looking back at some of the fabulous work he and his marvelous photographer friends have created since he moved to New York. Plus if you still want to see more he will be Guest blogging over at This week for dinner.
How am I going to get to work? Drowned rat springs to mind, I don't even have anything with a hood, I am at the complete mercy of the skies and I think they have ideas of whipping my newly washed hair in to a soggy comb over!

Light as a feather.

Out for lunch- roast pork and light as a feather chocolate cake for pudding-very delicious and my Easter morning was spent avoiding chocolate by making my veil and garter. All these pretty sewing supplies I have hoarded up for years are finally getting to fulfill their destiny! This tiny little dove was all alone in a box at the Shirley leaf and petal co I couldn't leave him in the shop so I had to find space for him in my veil. I never really plan the things I create, I just poke around my sewing room and gather a collection of bits and pieces that I feel go side by side and some how they come together, so rolling with the bird theme I made my garter using some net that will match my dress, a bow for my something blue, a diamante heart and two brass swallow findings from Etsy to embellish it.

Cake is my life

Found these delicious photos by Steve Giralt on a very fruitful trip around the net via Love forever which led me to sweet paul. It seems that Steve often works with Paul, taking amazing pictures of the beautiful food he has styled for magazines and gourmet websites.
Its hard not to get tangled up here, I am trying to type whilst being so excited and inspired by all the pics and blog posts. I have never seen such beautiful food styling. Eat your heart out martha you've definitely been out shined!
The sweet paul blog is packed with imagery and ideas. Click here and scroll down to find delightful christmas candy ideas. This is another blog which will have to be visited on a regular basis. So happy right now. I have a friend who has just had an operation, so he may be receiving some baked gifts inspired by what I've seen today.
