babies bonnet

Tiny velvet forget me knots. Faded leaves and soft pink roses. I was given this delicate antique babies bonnet with a view to turning it into something else. But it is so beautiful it would break my heart to cut it up. Being one of three sisters surely there will be a baby girl worthy of wearing it one day?

A swish of tulle

This afternoon whilst tidying I dug out my favorite vintage dresses from the back of a cupboard. I spent some time messing about and dressing up. My husband probably won't think this is the best way to spend an afternoon (especially as I forgot all about dinner. It's still frozen, oops!) Sometimes I don't know how he puts up with me. My head is half in today half in a thousand old Hollywood musicals.
But I promised to show some of my dresses to Sofia so here they are. I'm thinking they would look nice paired with some of her wonderful necklaces?

Lily and Agathe

A Tuesday thank you to Tanya Joseph of Lily and Agathe for making me her blog of the week. : )

Based in the south of france, as well as writing her own blog Tanya has this Super cute shop selling all kinds of vintage inspired treasures. If you haven't already, go see!

Vintage buffet

Remember when food looked this good? Me either! I just love vintage cookery books. Found this one in a local antique store. Those little prawn stuffed tomatoes look so cheerful. Maybe a little weird but definitely cheerful. I wont be reconstructing them. But I'm thinking the domino biscuits. Happy tuesday.

Little iccle rabbit.

Morning! Seeing these in another great etsy post by Holly over at decor8 reminded me of the "tweeter's" (pictured below) made by Abigail Brown. Each matchbox tweeter is delivered to you hidden away in it's little nest consisting of a vintage matchbox (that once belonged to an old mans matchbox collection) Each one is totally unique. Made from recycled and vintage materials. Thats why alas, they are all sold out at the moment! But there are lots of new items in the shop that are just as adorable, such as the Little iccle rabbit pictured here with his friends : )

Sharing.

Loathed as I am to do this (because I want them all for myself!) Hanne from heaven and earth has added these beautiful vintage embroidery silk packs to her etsy shop. Its like a candy store for grown ups, Pale and frosty collages from the series One Year Collages, and of course these scrummy vintage threads. Packed in cellophane with a traditional paper and string tag they look good enough to eat!
Obviously I have already ordered some, how could I not!
