Swoon

Swoon towards the festive season with a copy of the latest Sweet Paul Magazine. I love every page, from the sugar jewels to the bloody Mathilda cocktail. Packed from cover to cover with beautiful photography, styling ideas and DIY projects, could this be the best issue ever?

Leave work early

If you are ready for something tranquil and uplifting to calm you before all the bonfire night madness and the weekend I suggest you head over to read issue 3 of Unicorn Dream Magazine.

Right, I will stop bombarding you now as I am heading out to buy more paper price tags for the clothes I am selling at a posh jumble sale tomorrow in Hastings Old Town and then meeting some friends for lunch. Plus I have a whole bunch of errands that have built up while I have been hawking round the internet for wallpaper.

Have a fun afternoon, leave work early, meet a friend or enjoy a peaceful coffee before chaos arrives back in your life.

Bye x

Unicorn Dream Magazine

I am a bit behind on this one, but I just wanted to share the wonderful article about my home, by Sifra from Unicorn Dream Magazine. Pop over to the site to see all the pages and soak up more pretty things from the previous issue. It is such a great publication with dreamy fashion, dainty illustrations and playful reading.

My leisurely approach comes just in time to promote the third issue which should be out any day now.

Thank you so much Sifra.

Oh Comely

Had a fabulous time in London with friends today. We enjoyed yummy balsamic strawberry and black pepper ice cream next to the shimmering water in the garden at the V&A whilst waiting to see the Grace Kelly exhibition. It was all there, the Kelly bag, diamond tiara, floral silk pumps, capsule honeymoon wardrobe. Lots of cooing later and with a few (can't leave behind) items from the museum shop. I found myself making a mad dash for the train with a paper wrapped caramel doughnut in one hand and a copy of this beautiful magazine in the other. So impressed with their ethos (below) and what I discovered within the pages. I subscribed as soon as I got home. Can't wait for the next issue to arrive.

"oh comely is a magazine about people and their quirks and their creativity, rather than money and what it can buy. It's nice to see you here.
It's a magazine that inspires people to be creative, talk to their neighbours and explore new things, rather than buy stuff or lose weight. Imagine sitting down with a cup of tea and a creative friend to hear all the strange things she says, all the curious stuff she does, and about the things she loves."

Paper cravings 3

Best for styling tips and cool but easily achievable decorating ideas, Living etc is the first interiors magazine that I buy each month, plus it has a fabulous recipe section by Donna hay which is always a treat.

and after living etc there is

Country living
Elle decoration
The world of interiors
Vogue
Selvedge
Marie claire maison, my list goes on and on . . . . .

as well you will know by now my addition to glossies is almost as scary as my sweet tooth.

Paper cravings 2

Continuing the magazine, quest this morning. The dreamy girly world of Lula Magazine. You can't flick through previous issues online any more, but the new site has some really beautiful films to watch. To get a copy to keep and enjoy I recommend Borders.

Paper cravings

For Leonie a list of my favorite magazines, some I do keep whole for a while but in the end nearly all get torn up so I can keep the best bits for Record the Day The first is Vogue Living Australia. Such a beautiful publication, I don't always manage each months edition as I have to travel six towns over to get a copy. But it is so worth the hike.

tears of joy over Spilled Milk.

I am so excited this evening to post about the debut edition of lovely Marie Lid Aske's online magazine Spilled Milk. Marie asked me a while ago if I would like Record the day to be featured in her first issue. I said yes, and I am thrilled with how it turned out. There are so many wonderful pages it was all I could do not to feature the entire magazine here. Spilled milk features bloggers, designers, fashion lovers, photographers and artists of every kind. I am so proud to be a part of this first issue, and hope to read many more. Thanks Marie!

There is a blog too where I am sure you can find out all Marie's latest discoveries. So hop on over its the perfect way to while away some time this or any evening. Have fun.

A simple lunch

A simple lunch, a little light reading or looking as I can't read Danish, a delightful surprise and something new.

Thanks for all you comments and perfume experiences, now I can't wait to go out on a practical exercise and investigate further!

12. One of my favorite songs is "poppa don't preach to me" sung by Lena Horne.

Pretty pages

This post over at {frolic!} got me thinking about my favorite magazines and I have stacks of them piling up at home. The magazine fast of last year is truly over and more and more titles have been creeping back into the house. But the dreamiest one is Lula, it really appeals to my romantic nature.

8.I like to try and recycle old unusual words that are seldom used nowadays. Its fun when I have blended them into everyday life and my friends start using them too. I loved reading the legal papers when we bought our house. It explained things as if we were living in Shakespearian times.

Staying on the wagon

Mid week greetings! Well, one month on and I was quite good I only bought two glossies in June, Living etc which duped me as it was in a cellophane wrap (like a kids surprise bag these ones always get me because I just have to know what's inside) once opened it was a great disappointment. The second was Country Living which had a country weddings feature that was also a bit of a let down. I Hope I can be this good for another month my purse and the recycling unit are both very happy.
Anyway thanks to Southern flair blog I found this great link to loads of vintage magazine covers. All my favorites are there in all their nostalgic glory. I just love the more abstract fifties and sixties ones.

Lula and Amelia.

Great new issues of Amelia's magazine and Lula magazine out now. Both have such interesting articles with beautiful photography and illustrations. This issue of Amelia's is all about contemporary Russia, inspiring music, fashion, photography and art.
Lula has a virgin suicides feel to it with Kirsten Dunst writing about her world and dreamy photography with a seventies fashion twist. Both are such lovely publications, hard to choose one so it'll just have to be both. Another dent in my finances caused by paper!
