A spot of lunch

Just preparing lunch before I brave the outside world, a world which today is filled with plumes of smoke from the remains of our smouldering Pier after some swines set it alight last night. I need to find an outfit that won't mind soaking up the miserable smoke and ash. Meanwhile as I muster the will to leave, I am cheering myself up with a 1920's film day, a tonne of sequinned headdresses and feathers and flower garlands to lift my dampened spirits.

I thought I would also share a picture of my living room as it looks this morning, the swan it seems has been to busy to tidy. But I've not been idling, I spent the morning listing a final few sets of photographs in my Etsy shop. and the lounge will be ship shape later.

something for the weekend

Inside the parcel was the perfect clutch bag, that completes my outfit for tonight on the tiles, I ordered it from Liz of lovely shop Seven Poppies, you can catch up with her and all the shop goings ons over at the Seven Poppies blog too.

Haunting blues

Thursday. A quick walk to town for white cotton thread to finish some garlands that have been patiently waiting on my work table, turned into the unexpected treat of coffee with a friend. The sun even showed up for the afternoon.

I came home to find an eagerly awaited parcel, then sat down with a cool drink, flicked through the new Toast catalogue and ate my lunch. The cover is beautiful haunting blues and mauves, all the colours of my dried Hydrangeas. Things are looking up.

flutterby findings

Have been scouting through the Etsy blog this morning and happened upon this beautiful jewellery collection fit for a fairy kingdom by Derya Aksoy owner of the etsy boutique Jewelera. I had to stop and post about her work, maybe you have seen it before but I just had to share. I especially love the image of Derya's studio/workspace.

Wreaths and wishes

Happy Monday everyone I hope your weekend was filled with sunshine and happiness. My husband has been away again at a trade show in Taiwan so I have actually been back in my work room, getting the feel for making a few more things as its only two more weeks until I drop a day at the bank. Hooray! Some tiny blossom adorned wreaths have been added to the shop to bring the first days of spring ever closer to home.

Early morning sunshine

A run of good weather and early morning sunshine has put a spring in my step and I am finally getting around to listing the wreaths I made over at Etsy. I have a few more to finish and will share some more pictures soon.

Paper trail

Up early to add a few new paper garlands to the shop before I head out, I have the day off today and after a week of bitter cold but sunny days today of course is grey grey grey. Although there is a tiny crack in the clouds a seam of light which makes me hopeful. Maybe I will meet my friend and be able to drink my coffee outside?

Yellow and Blue

Monday was spent meeting sweet Abi the photograher from Company magazine, striking a terrified pose (oh the full length body shot, fingers crossed I don't look too scared) it was real fun talking to her and once the camera was off me and pointed towards the apartment I was even happier.

Other good things from Monday included getting my new toast catalogue, some beautiful beads arriving from Etsy and a walk to the old town where I picked up this beautiful silk velvet cushion, so soft I could hug it to my chest for eternity and a new bracelet made from heavy daffodil coloured yellow stones. Ended the afternoon with a coffee walnut cupcake.

High tea

Finally clawing my way out of the winter darkness. Making new garlands for my first spring shop listings. I picked up some vintage tea plates and classic tea time treats which brightened my day no end.

Spent a whole lovely Sunday with my husband after he returned from two weeks in Hawaii. So even though it's still dismal and grey outdoors, everything is pretty and pastel coloured indoors as we make our way in to a new week.

Well dressed

Love this book The well dressed home by Annette Tatum, so much loveliness on every page, collections of pretty clothes and beautiful interiors. Inspiration boards and decorating ideas. All these images have really perked me up.

The first of 2010

The tree is all gone, the garlands away, just about eaten all the seasonal excess. Happy to discard anything thats left over and start from scratch, healthy eating to heal up all the damage that too many party nights may have caused and long woodland or beachside walks in the brisk winter air to cleanse the mind and soul.

I was so happy this morning when I remembered I have one of these sweet calendars from Kitty Rogers. I can't wait to pop it on my fridge and see it every day. Now just to find the safe place in which I stored it . . . . . . .
