I am a bit behind on this one, but I just wanted to share the wonderful article about my home, by Sifra from Unicorn Dream Magazine. Thanks for all your encouraging and inspiring comments, it is amazing to hear how many of you already have or are about to make the jump to spend more time doing the things you love. Its not about money or an easy life either, its clearly about spending most of your time doing what truly makes you happy, even if that means working longer hours for a lower income. A better quality of life. I don't want to look back and wonder why I never attempted to follow my dreams and with the support I have from my family and friends and all of you here it seems as though anything is achievable.

Absent

My internet connection is being a nightmare or it could be this laptop of mine that needs a good cleansing. Hence my absence lately. I need my man to take it a way for a mac spa day and return it rejuvenated. A new one is simply out of the question at the moment.

I have had a lovely three day break, dark skies and rain, no husband and more rain have helped to get me motivated. I have been stitching cutting wrapping and packing. Making new garlands and decorations to put in the shop.

All the autumn colours outside my windows inspired me to use some vintage 1950's fabric in the packaging.

I also wanted to thank you for all your ideas for our holiday, I am feeling homely and thinking maybe we might hit the road and see some of the UK for a change, B&B's, chilly hands warmed by hot chocolate in little cafes bye the sea, lakes and mountains, rolling hills and castles. I am thinking head to Arundel then towards Bridstow to visit Bailey's home and garden store. Then a little of wales and so on until the week runs out. What are your favorite towns and places to visit in old Blighty? Any great tea shops or other things I should know about?

enjoying the bright days

Hot clammy days and nights. I do like the sun, I am not complaining, but my head is waiting for a storm. I seem to have a built in weather vane. My head clouds over and aches a little until a good dose of thunder and lightening release the pressure. I trust you are enjoying the bright days.

The happy skies have given me a burst of energy so while I am feeling inspired I have a little shop update. Some pretty post card sets.

Just thought I would say a quick thank you to everyone who has taken the time to say hi and send me sweet wishes via comments and emails, I will get around to individual hello's but for now enjoy the rest of your week, have you ben out in the sunshine at all?

Thirsty and Thankful

I have been given a few blog awards lately and I would like to say thank you, I am so grateful, I am afraid I don't have enough time to leave all the links and replies.

There is one blog that I can't get out of my mind, which I would pass all the awards to, whenever my thirst for colour cannot be quenched, a visit to Saint Verde keeps me going.

Big smile

Thank you so much for all your lovely messages yesterday they warmed my heart and plumped my soul. It was so very cold outside, I just stayed home, packed and shipped all my Etsy orders and got lots of other things done, fun stuff and chores, it really is one of my favorite things, to stay at home by myself. Later, we ventured out into the frosty evening for a delicious home cooked meal with my family, my Dad really is a great cook.

Of course I am thrilled to meet up with friends or family and when I actually make the effort I have such fun. But just lately I think I may be becoming more reclusive than ever. I have to force myself out to visit people sometimes. I wonder if I am online too much? Just at home and the husband the only other face I see. I feel like I should be getting a dose of cabin fever but I am happier than ever, who needs to leave the house when there is a hoard of port and cheese? Must just be the season, I'm hoping anyway!? When we have longer sun ups and cardigan, not coat weather, I will make more trips out into civilization.

14. For my birthday amongst other things I received a beautiful cardigan from Toast, a family recipe, a pair of berry coloured suede gloves and a necklace that belonged to a close friend. (She hardly ever wore it and as I loved it so much passed it on to me.) yay! What is the sweetest thing someone has given or done for you?

History

Happy sunday to you. I know a few kind bloggers have been posting about my Estate sale boxes and I thank them for being so sweet. I also thank them for finding the boxes new homes, as there is no doubt that all the coverage has increased sales. If you were one of the purchasers I thought I would tell a little more on the boxes history.

All the items are a mixture of vintage and new haberdashery that I have collected over the last 10 years. From craft shows, craft shops, foreign travel (paris, prague,USA), antique stores some bits I inherited from my great grandmothers and great aunts sewing boxes. All I have treasured with such a passion I didn't know how to finally decide what to use them for.

I have always dreamed of owning my own haberdashery where I could help others choose the perfect things for their projects. So when I discovered Etsy I knew I just had to share. It makes me so happy to know a box of my treasures has made someone else's day, and that with fresh new eyes and vision they will create what I couldn't.

A few people are making me feel popular today. A huge thanks to Ez over at creature comforts for this mention and lovely listing in her A-Z of design and style blogs. What a lovely surprise I arrived home to.

Secondly thanks to Katrina over at pugly feet (Those trays are a great find!) for the Excellence Award, Blush, Thank You : ) Can't quite make out what's wrong with the feet but she sure has a delightful face! I'm going to be diplomatic and award all the blogs in my making my day list with E for excellence, I couldn't possibly pick out 10. After all they are each responsible for being such good reads that my significant other barely gets any dinner or conversation or help with household chores these days or most evenings! Comforted

Thanks for all your kind and encouraging comments, they have really comforted me at the end of this emotional roller coaster of a week. It's so strange for me not to be the one in control. At my old job I was the one that everyone asked for help or answers. I've surrendered my self to the fact that this is how it will be for a while. Got to keep my eye on the future and how doing this will get me where I want to be, with this in mind today was better, no tears and being busy and learning new things made my day fly by.

Anyway it's the weekend now and no work for two days yippee. The boy and I are off to London tomorrow and to Tiffany's to get our wedding rings, so its all smiles for a couple of days. Enjoy your weekend!

Very behind on this one I’m so flattered that Mirka at Oprikka has given me a “you’ve made my day” award which is so sweet and such a compliment. Thank you.

Just wanted to take an opportunity to say thanks to everyone that reads my ramblings and to all that have commented and encouraged me. I do try to pop by and see what each of you are up to and I may not always find time to comment in return but be sure I'm regularly checking in. Seems that a few of us have similar resolutions to stick to and common interests that have drawn us together. I can't believe that in less than two months I will have had my little blog for a year. I find it amazing that through blogging I have made friends with strangers who share my passions and fears. (and who probably understand them better than people I have known for years) Well bedtime now obviously that dose of night nurse has gone to my head.
