Pastels, pompoms and place settings.

How was your weekend? I hope you have enjoyed peeking into the favourite item lists of some of my readers in my previous posts.

Monday again and although I have the day off, I am glad for the grey sky, I need to stay home and do all things domestic so don't need the lure of the sun to coax me out of the house. I always find pink counteracts the rain so here is a pretty dream like setting for everyone from Swedish interior stylist Lo Bjurulf. Found via House doctor.

Obsession-vintage pink

Always find myself inspired by wedding styling and these shots from a pink vintage wedding over at Once Wed are just so pretty and summery.

For you

Peeking through the DIY archives and beautiful weddings over at Project wedding and found this centrepiece which I thought I would bring back for you.

Sumptuous setting

A most sumptuous setting full of jewel bright colours and everything that can thaw a heart after such a frosty few weeks. Couldn't you just jump right in? Think I will invite some friends over for a pretty lunch on Sunday.

wedding directory

I was recently asked by another blogger to recommend some of my favorite wedding sites. This is an edited down collection of the cream of wedding inspiration. Each one has link lists so you can run off on a tangent and get lost up to your veil or tiara in table settings, menu ideas, bridal fashion, favors and all the things that put together make your special day a perfect day.

Even if you are already married like me or not planning a wedding but just need some ideas for adding some extra sparkle to a special event, dinner, party or maybe just an evening with yourself! These are the best places to start to help your little seed of thought bloom.
Some I am sure you will already know, but I hope you like them all as much as I do!

Homemade fun and summer festivities

I find wedding blogs so inspiring. These inspiration boards from snippet and ink are just fabulous! I so love the simple natural colours of the top board, but how summery and fun is the bottom pic?

Have a good day.

So today on this perfect sunny Saturday we are off to a wedding. With help from you guys, I have chosen the cream and floral dress, thank you.

Have fun whatever you decide to do. see you soon x

Hung up

I am still so hung up on these exquisite Celadon and Camellia fabric designs from Designers Guild. They make for perfect Summer wedding outfit inspiration.

I could just go wild and dress mannequins all day over at the stock rooms of NET-A-PORTER.COM It must be like christmas every day unwrapping all the deliveries. Think I might go and embellish something right now.

All clothing from the fabulous NET-A-PORTER.COM

Another happy place

Another happy place. I think I will spend my Tuesday evening reading over here.

I could have danced all night

I have had such a great day off. I feel like I'm on cloud nine. Firstly, dear sweet Brittany Noel let me know that record the day was featured on design sponge's guest blog which is written this week by Roseline from this is glamourous. Then I watched my fair lady and laughed along to the hilarious dialogue. How amazing is Eliza's dress when she attends the ball? It would make a fabulous wedding dress. As it is not available one of these stunning modern alternatives from Jenny Packam might do?

Table trend

The day is finally here, I have sent my table trends design over to Emily at Once wed and can't wait to see the finished post. I am so excited to see how she will pair the images together, to see it through her eyes. Thanks again Emily it is a real honor.

Pieces of the puzzle

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. It feels a bit like groundhog day at my day job these days. But elsewhere I am enjoying my time preparing the final elements for my upcoming feature on Once wed. Nearly finished now just a few more pictures need to be taken.

The way I create

So this is the thing. My initial idea was in my head. Then I became involved with the paper. The magazines. The scraps and samples. Its like I get possessed. Some what like the painter from the TV show Heroes. You know the one? Well anyway after I came to and stepped away from the paper shreds around me, these were the colours that emerged. So sorry about me and my mad professor ways. Hope you can keep up! The foundations of my wedding table design are set. These are they.

Table trends

So heres the scoop. I had an amazing invitation from Emily of Once wed to design a wedding table for her "Table Trends" series. Of course I nearly bit her hand off to accept. Thank you so much Emily.

Planned on a budget of $200-$250 using easily accessible supplies. I will hand make some pieces to save money and may use some vintage elements, not too many though as I appreciate not everyone feels the need to trawl flea markets and antique stores. But hey one day maybe people will employ me to do the leg work for them?

My first Wintery thoughts are for Lots of White accented with Gold leaf. Rich winter fruits. Foil wrapped sweets. But don't let me give it all away so soon. I will be making some more collage boards as soon as I get back home to my avalanche of magazines and paper. The magazine fast is officially over. (Well, it is nearing christmas and I just can't resist all those festive front covers).

The inspiration board you see here is a collection of images from these wonderful designers Emma Cassi, Sweet Paul and Colin Cooke, Caroline Roehm, and Martha Stewart.

I also love the idea of these snow topped cupcakes from Cannelle et Vanille too. If you'll join me I'll keep you posted of my progress each step of the way.

Ps. These guinea pigs are better company than you would think, every time I go to leave the room they are hanging on the bars to see where I'm going. Bless em. Yes they live in Emma-li's lounge!

Fun things

It was misty and rainy again today. I popped out to have a coffee with my family then dashed home. I have to admit I have been pretty much couch bound for the rest of the day, waiting for Dean to get back from an event. Seeking inspiration from around the world. I found some fun things to use as wedding favors today from Spoon Sisters. Plus I'm a sucker for a cute about us story and this one is real sweet.

Mr and Mrs

Little post to say hello! and thank you so much for all your well wishes. We had a beautiful perfect sunshine wedding day. And an amazing time in New York. From now on I shall answer to the name Mrs Hearne.

I went to change my name at the bank yesterday without thinking that maybe I should have been practicing my new signature. Needless to say some improvement needs to be made! These are my favorite bits of New York. So much to see and do. My feet are just about growing back after I walked them off all around this beautiful city. We also spent a day at Coney Island as it was just opening up for summer. It was nice to get a train out of the city and enjoy the sunshine on the beach. It was a bit like being at home, we live in is a summer kind of town. I just love the kitsch nature of seaside places.

Anyway back home now in Old Blighty, I always wondered about this phrase, but arriving below the clouds to wet, damp drippy days says it all. I love home. But not today.

Mrs

Just taking five minutes to relax before it goes nuts in my house. The hairspray and hair grips, the make up, the nerves. Maybe even two minutes for breakfast. Today is the day, next time I I post I will be a Mrs.

Two

So two days to go. I'm hoping today's grey sky will empty it's contents over the next twenty four hours so its clear Wednesday.
