Pastels, pompoms and place settings.

How was your weekend? I hope you have enjoyed peeking into the favourite item lists of some of my readers in my previous posts.

Monday again and although I have the day off, I am glad for the grey sky, I need to stay home and do all things domestic so don't need the lure of the sun to coax me out of the house. I always find pink counteracts the rain so here is a pretty dream like setting for everyone from Swedish interior stylist Lo Bjurulf. Found via House doctor.

Coconut dusted iced cakes

Everything was pink at a birthday tea party for my sister last Sunday. Pearly balloons, coconut dusted iced cakes, tiny vases filled with baby and hot pink roses, candies in pastel shades, glasses of cream soda. Everyone brought something different to eat, gifts were given, then we happily watched Vogue documentary-the September issue.

Fashion, balloons and cake three of my favourite things, all in one sitting. I am looking forward to more gatherings with friends as christmas fast approaches.

cancel out the grey

Grey sky and constant rain today, to cancel out the grey I have some pink for you all. Wether it's rain or shine where you are I know you will love these beautiful photographs by Janne Peters.

in the pink

Morning! Where have I been? Sorry for my absence I just haven't had the posting bug lately, maybe I am still on vacation mode. What have you been upto? I hope your weekend was splendid. We have had a perfect two days, visiting family on Saturday and then stealing Sunday for ourselves, a long country drive and a delicious lunch.

Talking of vacations whilst in Ireland we visited some beautiful gardens with mum, I took so many pictures and my favorites were this little collection of pink blooms. I just adore the petal layers and ruffles in these poppies, roses and from my mums own garden a black elder.

I will use them as inspiration for some new garlands. Ruffles and May pole ribbons. Draped and pinned around to add some Summer cheer.

cinderella story

I have been browsing through my Rachel Ashwell interiors book over the weekend looking for inspiration on how to decorate for the taster evening that my sister and I are going to hold this saturday. I love the girlishness of all these pink details. As there are no men invited it doesn't matter if the pink is overwhelming!
The crumpled linen table cloth and pretty tea cups and glasses used here would be ordinary on their own but pulled together in this way they are fit for a princess. My imagination is running riot now imagining tiny birds, mice and squirrels preparing a magical feast while I just rest my eyes for a minute and catch forty winks.
