collar bone confections

There was something that jumped out at me from the Anna Sui collection, beyond the colour, it was the stunning pieces of jewelry. Real statement necklaces. While flicking through my Etsy favorites yesterday I found these amazing collar bone confections that could easily give Anna a run for her money.

They are from Etsy shop Irregular Expressions, a family project based in Istanbul, selling freeform crochet jewelry and knitted accessories. Beautiful fibers, traditional techniques and delicate intricate beadwork are combined to complete these works of art. All items are one offs so if you see a piece you like snap it up quick! If someone pips you at the post, they also welcome custom orders. Just imagine what you could come up with?

Something about these designs really reminds me of Frida Kahlo another great colour role model. Anyway I think I have bombarded you with enough colourful images for one day. Back tomorrow.

the frame game

Time for one more? The husband is still at the pub watching the demise of his beloved football team and our internet is back on now. I know my love of empty frames has been well publicised and so I thought I would share this beautiful display form a recent show by jewelry designer Blue moss?

Jennifer Morris Beads

I have been awestruck over the exquisite work of Jennifer morris beads's for some time now, in fact I think Jennifer's shop was one of my first ever Etsy stops.

I have a friend with a birthday I recently missed (due to all my career upheaval etc) Who I know would adore these mini masterpieces as much as I do. So B watch out for a special little something. Now the hard part of deciding which to buy? How to choose just one? This is going to be difficult.

Box of tricks

When I first found blogs and before I had my own laptop I would always beg a few minutes use of the other half's computer and my first stop would be Pam Garrisons to see what beautiful new things she had been creating. Still checking in to see what Pam is up to each week. If you go over to visit now you can see what lovely jewelry she has been making from the contents of this treasure box (above) at Art nest. I would so love to go on one of these art retreats, it looks like such fun to meet all these different creative people to share ideas with. There is a great Art Nest flickr pool too so you can view all the attendants work and I found another great blog from one of the organisers too Blue girlxo. Happy nesting!
