As we are getting near to the big C I thought I would share some other c's from my week. Cinema, cupcakes, cosmopolitans, Carrie. Tuesday I went to a private screening of the extended version of Sex and the City, held at a sweet little independent cinema. I took cake. Lots of Carrie's outfits remind me of glorious whipped frosting. She is the perfect cake topper! : )

Thanks for all your well wishes for my mum. I think we might be more angry than her! Us girls are very protective. So, mum has her car back and is just waiting for new keys to be made. No sign of the handbag but that was kind of expected. Money, keys, bank cards, are all replaceable, but its the sentimental things that can't be replaced. That's what is really upsetting when something like this happens. Anyway enough about those selfish idiots. My sisters and I shall try and make sure that mum has a new set of things to treasure.
My day was brightened when I got home from work by a surprise waiting on the door mat and in my inbox. The christmas catalogue from Toast, such warming images in here. They have cosied me up a little as the wind and hail batters my victorian walls and I try to sew a few things. Maybe if I'm good santa will put some of these beautiful padded hangers in my stocking?

Sad day

Yesterday was great. Today not so. Although I am fond of the slow food movement, after a long day of doing something that you loathe then coming home to an empty home (the husband is away with work) the last thing I want to do is stand up and slave over a meal. So the sad little dinner for one is in the oven. Don't think bad of me.

Once home the phone rings. Its Leah my youngest sister. Phoning to tell me that some ******* stole my mums handbag from her place of work. Stole her new car and dumped it in a field. The worst of it is my sweet little mum lives so far away (Ireland) I can't even give her a hug. At least she has littlest sister there with her. Sending you love and huge hugs mummy. Hope they catch the idiots!
But its not all doom and gloom there is a bright sparkling light at the end of the tunnel. I did catch the lighting of the christmas tree fireworks display out of my bedroom window. I am such a sucker for giant sparkles in the sky. Hope you had a better thursday.

I could have danced all night

I have had such a great day off. I feel like I'm on cloud nine. Firstly, dear sweet Brittany Noel let me know that record the day was featured on design sponge's guest blog which is written this week by Roseline from this is glamourous. Then I watched my fair lady and laughed along to the hilarious dialogue. How amazing is Eliza's dress when she attends the ball? It would make a fabulous wedding dress. As it is not available one of these stunning modern alternatives from Jenny Packam might do?

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. It feels a bit like groundhog day at my day job these days. But elsewhere I am enjoying my time preparing the final elements for my upcoming feature on Once wed. Nearly finished now just a few more pictures need to be taken.

A night at the ballet

This Saturday I am in love with the faded pinks in these confections hand made by Sofia for her new Shop. They some how remind me of being behind the scenes at a ballet, the sound of rustling tutu's and dancers gritting their point shoes.
