Good old Ralph Lauren home never fails to inspire. And I love the colour and texture mix in these pictures. Faded florals, patched denims, homely mutt. I am seeing a recurring theme with dogs around here, you can't beat a friendly hound when needing to add personality and warmth to a home setting. I have almost been tempted myself, I do love dogs and their cheeky personalities, if it wasn't for allergies, and If only they didn't molt. There is nothing glamourous about living life in a flurry of pet hair. And no I don't want a labradoodle.
1. i love cinnamon toast + rilakkuma, 2. macchiato, 3. today's bread, 4. monday'slunch
Update. Not really one to make excuses, maybe sometimes I should spare peoples feelings? A few of my friends invent elaborate stories as to why they can't make it to things that they have been invited to. Don't say you have to help your dad move house then get caught lunching at a country pub with someone else! Selfish old me, I will just say I don't want to go.
Why when I am supposed to be at a surprise party in an hour, am I wrapped in a blanket taking bare faced self portraits, playing this flickr game?
Where I'd rather be. I love how the models, products and scenery all blend together to form one fabulous bohemian Autumn/Winter soiree. Join the party at Gucci
The lovely Sam, one of my etsy customers, has sent me a picture of the sweet folk she created at a recent Julie Arkell workshop. I am beaming to see the antique lace from the collection Sam bought being used as part of the outfit for her creation.
I expect it was easy to be inspired surrounded by such scenery, part meadow part english country garden, set in the grounds of a fourteenth century french walnut mill. Its just breathtaking. Rooms can be rented here for bed and breakfast so you can also stay in these beautiful grounds.

Car ride. Dark city. Late night. Hot chocolate. Can't sleep. Up early. Get lost. Meet new people. Team building. Sharing stories. Presenting facts. Silly games. Scheduled bathroom breaks. Old buildings. Hot tube stations. Catching up with good friends. Thai food. Evening streets. Dripping tap. Deep sleep. Big breakfast. Black cab. Laughing lots. Learn a little more. Farewell. Train home.
Super glad to be back in the peace and calm of my own home and familiar bed.

The husband has gone to Sunny LA and Vegas. Is it wrong that I am wrapped in a blanket with the heating cranked, devouring a box of chocolates and watching Master and commander? Sometimes you just need an epic film combined with the woozy feeling one gets after eating too much chocolate to complete your day. And Russell Crowe grubby but charismatic is a little bonus I guess. Though fifteen minutes in and this film is taking a rather gloomy turn. Might have to turn it off after all.

After popping into town yesterday to drop off some more possessions to charity and treat myself to my bi-annual manicure. I grabbed a hot buttery jacket potato from the take away stand on my way back home. Then settled down in a blanket with my potato an the new issue of country living. Many Autumn pages later and feeling inspired I finished off one of eight wreaths I am making for a local shop that stocks a few of my things.
A Tuesday thank you to Tanya Joseph of Lily and Agathe for making me her blog of the week. : )
If you haven't already, go see!
I have to work three out of every four Saturdays and Dean is off to Vegas for a trade show next weekend. So I think this will be the last summer day out for us. Long drive. Beach walk. Pebbles and sand dunes. Hot coffee. A jar of dark chocolate biscuits that I managed to fit into my oversized handbag. Hope you are all enjoying the final days of this brief season.
